STRING QUARTET NO.2  I wrote this in March 2012.  You can hear a computer generated performance on my Music Page site.   You can also hear my STRING QUARTET (2009) there, and the Perpetual Martyrdom PRELUDE AND FUGUE for String Quartet (2012).

MASS: SAINT LEONARD'S PRAYER  I wrote this towards the end of 2011 specifically for the celebration in 2012 of the 600 years since the Parish Church of Middleton (Manchester UK) was re-ordered and dedicated to St. Leonard by Cardinal Langley. It will be given its first performance in that church by members of the Middleton Musical Society with Baritone soloist Keith Lloyd on Saturday, June 2nd 2012 at 7.00pm. At the organ will be Elin Rees, Associate Director of Music at Bury Parish Church.  I shall conduct.

SET ME AS A SEAL UPON YOUR HEART  Text from The Song of Songs 8.6-7a.  For SATB. I've written this for the Middleton Musical Society. You can listen to a computer generated account if this on my YouTube site.

"DRINK TO ME ONLY WITH THINE EYES"   I've made an arrangement of the usual tune to Ben Jonson's poem for SSAATTBB with accompaniment (piano or instrumental ensembles). Again this is for the Middleton Musical Society, and we'll be including it in our contribution to the joint concert we're giving with the Middleton Band of April 9th in Alkrington URC church. (And you can listen to a computer generated account on my YouTube site.)

HAITIAN LULLABY WITH VARIANTS for Flute and Guitar  This comes out of an invitation to add variations to a Suite being compiled by the Delian Society of composers on the internet. The idea is, to contribute to the Haiti Disaster Appeal funds any proceeds that might emerge from its performances. You can hear and see a video I've made of this by visiting http://www.youtube.com/pizzicatoman.
There is a 'dramatised' version, which has a pretty well unplayable guitar part!!!, and another, more musically sober version called HLWV 2!

ELEGY FOR CHRIS  Another recent composition is that of an Elegy for Clarinet and Piano written in appreciation of clarinettist Chris Mackay who died in September 2009 having been overtaken in August by a particularly virulent strain of cancer. He was quite a character! And he played in the Rochdale Light Orchestra until a few weeks before his death. Again, I've put a computer generated performance of this on the internet at http://www.youtube.com/pizzicatoman. A live performance will follow shortly.

The members of the Fell Clarinet Quartet are pictured here with composers from the North West Composers Association (of which I am now Vice-Chairman).
